Session 1: Growing Concerns for Sports Fields Safety & Maximizing Multi-Purpose Fields
Presented by: Sportsfield Specialties
We will be touching base on growing concern for protective netting as it pertains to safety around all playing fields. (Baseball/Softball, Soccer, Lacrosse, Multi-Purpose Fields) In depth conversations on country wide trends related to all sports and the differences when selecting netting options for the end users. The growth of multipurpose fields has required so many aspects of design and playability to be looked at in more depth for the architects and the end users. We will be looking at how to plan for these facilities and the options that exist or are being developed to help aid in the design of these fields.
Session 2: Selecting Materials for Outdoor Applications
Presented by: Forms + Surfaces
We begin by examining conditions and constraints typical of outdoor environments and their potential impact on materials and products. Next, a range of materials used in outdoor applications is evaluated against a framework that compares conventional materials with high-performance options. We then look at green building standards and rating systems and discuss how there’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to material selection. We review how product suppliers can help architects and designers confidently select materials that meet project-specific sustainability goals.
Session 3: Security with Precast
Presented by: Tectura Design
In this course we will explore the integration of precast concrete products into a sound perimeter security program. We will also discuss how to customize the product to fit a projects requirement and how to incorporate design into the project. Furthermore, we will discuss the installation requirement and the bollard rating system.
Session 4: The Role of a Playground Consultant
