Plan It Native Landscape Conference
September 16, 2020 @ 8:00 am - September 18, 2020 @ 5:00 pm
The Plan It Native Conference (planitnative.org) returns for a second year of native plant inspiration and education – this time online! This virtual conference will be held September 16 – 18. Plan It Native offers in-depth sessions with regional and national experts in native landscapes.
Native plants are critical to our natural systems. They are great for habitat (butterflies, birds, bees, and other insects rely on them). They’re also impactful because of their extensive root systems, which retain more water than traditional lawns. Native plants’ roots trap significant carbon, reduce stormwater run-off, and mitigate flooding. Incorporating native plants into our landscapes is one of the most important things people can do for the environment.
Landscape Architects can receive continuing education hours for attending educational sessions at the 2020 virtual conference (approximately 8 -15 continuing education hours will be available).
Plan It Native 2020 includes three half-days of valuable information for land managers and gardeners at all scales. Don’t miss sessions on:
- selecting plants for pollinator health
- gardening for winter beauty and wildlife
- principles for improving soil health
- seeding and maintaining prairie plantings
- green infrastructure
- and more!
