Nature of Work This is professional and technical landscape architecture work of an advanced nature in the design and development of park land and recreational facilities. Work includes preparing project specifications, bid/contract documents, and site plans, computing cost estimates, as well as construction monitoring, site inspections, and other duties relating to improvement projects for parks or recreational facilities. Work also includes various responsibilities for hiring, directing, supervising, and monitoring consultants providing design-related services to projects assigned to the incumbent.
Incumbents work with considerable independence, assign work, and monitor the performance of private consultants. General supervision is received from an assigned supervisor.
Education / Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, civil engineering or a related field AND Three (3) years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, civil engineering, or a related field.
Must be able to transport oneself or coordinate transportation to work sites throughout the City during the course of the work day.

Salary Range $73,964.80 to $103,459.20 Annually
Forty-hour work week. Paid leave per year: 12 days’ vacation; 5 days management; 15 days sick; and fourteen holidays. Employee’s group health insurance, including major medical, vision, and dental, for individual or family. See hr.cityofomaha.org for detailed information.
Examination: The examination, scheduled at a later date, will consist of a structured interview. The structured interview will assess job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. The final eligibility list will be assembled from those candidates achieving a passing score of 60% on the structured interview (100% weight).
Veteran Points To claim five (5) points for veteran’s preference, you must submit proof of service (such as a DD-214), including date of induction, date of honorable separation, and Social Security number. (You must have completed more than 180 consecutive days of active duty.) To receive an additional five (5) points credit for disability, you must submit proof of eligibility from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs dated within the last 12 months. This information must be submitted to the Human Resources Department by March 26, 2025.

All ads are posted for a one month. At the end of one month, ads will be removed unless they are renewed.
Pricing is $50 for members and $100 for non-members.
